Registered Airmail
Updates: July 15
The COVID-19 pandemic has lasted for months since its outbreak in Jan 2020.
In Singapore, the situation became bad towards the end of 1st Quarter of 2020, resulting in the introduction of a Circuit Breaker in April; Inbound tourists are controlled, with more than 90% outgoing flights being cancelled. Though the situation has improved marginally as at now, and flight dispatch has improved, postal delivery delay worldwide is still expected.
Delivery of international postal packages will also be impacted by the global pandemic situation at destination. There are recent reports that COVID-19 has worsen in Australia Melbourne, Hong Kong, Japan, USA and other countries. Recently, Hong Kong has announced suspension of all school after a spike in locally transmitted cases. Australia has also introduced additional measures as the COVID-19 surge has worsen. Some US States have reimpose COVID-19 measures as cases spike. The strict border controls and restrictions on international travel, airlines have drastically reduced international services between Singapore and all international destinations. International air freight capacity and frequency has been severely limited. At destination, domestic flight transit and between states transit route could also be limited when the COVID-19 situation is not favorable. Unfortunately, such circumstances will lead to substantial delays for all postal packages delivery.
Updates: May 22
The COVID-19 has severely disruption movement of people and goods internationally.
As countries gear up to combat the spread of virus, many measures are introduced to protect the safety of individuals that are still working hard at the customs borders and also the processing facilities to clear mail packages for last mile delivery. With all the additional safety measures in place, delay in mail delivery is unfortunately inevitable.
For few countries, postal flight availability has improved, e.g. USA & Japan. However, for many flights are still very limited, e.g. Australia, Canada, Chile, Mata and New Zealand. Some of the countries, though not in suspension list, are being held at Air Transit Centre for 24 days or longer, waiting for next available flights so the packages can be uplifted.

As a result, airlines have drastically reduced international services, leading to a significant reduction in air freight capacity and frequency to all international destinations. All mail packages will be collected and lodged. However, all shipments to overseas will result in a delay from the usual transit time. Your patience is appreciated.
